Groundhog Day – Early!

I had my own “groundhog day” yesterday.

My newest bird, Lucky, who is a sun conure, a type of parrot,  is a lively addition to my household.  He brings the count to 3.  In the past I had as many as 4, but then I was still married and had help.

Lucky, as with most conures likes to hang out under my shirt or blouse.  He would like to be friends with my two blue-headed pionus parrots, but they have seniority – and are larger birds.

Since I only have 2 hands I can transport all three with Lucky on my head and the other 2 on my hands, or with one on my shoulder.  Another way is for Lucky to be under my shirt hanging on.

So, yesterday Lucky was under my turtleneck top, Gracie was on my left shoulder, and Sueño was traveling on my right hand as a perch.

Lucky decided to come out and peeked his head out on the left side in the front.  He saw Gracie on the spot he was going to head for, but the better part of valor led him to duck back into my top.  Our own groundhog day.

Since this is Phoenix where the weather is mostly nice this time of year, I’m not sure what this says about the season, but perhaps we’ll have at least 6 weeks more of lovely weather.

There is a song in this somewhere…

Wishing you your own advantageous “Groundhog Day”,

Network Marketing Success – Loyalty

Recently I have been thinking about network marketing success and loyalty.

I had been with a company for 8 years and could not make a go of it. Great company, great products, couldn’t be successful no matter what I tried that was suggested for me to do.

When I started learning about Mentoring for Free and first spoke with MFF Founder Michael Dlouhy, he told me that my lack of success was not my fault. I wanted to believe that, but was angry that I company I had poured my hopes, dreams, and money into did not have the system, products, or pay plan that would allow me to be successful; they were not congruent with my personality.

I worked hard, but just became garage qualified – still using some of the products after 4 or 5 years. But after getting educated and acquiring the kind of skills I was not getting from the other company I had great difficulty to let it go, even though I knew it was not a good company for me. I felt it would be disloyal.

Reminds me of the dentist we had while growing up. He was a neighbor of my aunt. But he was not a very good dentist. My mother and I went to him anyway out of loyalty. We both have gum recession and while we have good dental care now, we would have been in better shape if we’d had a better dentist.

So, LOYALTY can be misplaced.

What about where your loyalties lie? Do they serve you or do they not?

Wishing you network marketing success – loyalty given to worthy entities…

Finding Your Focus

I was thinking about how the focus in our lives comes about. Probably most times by accident of experiences we have. Some of it comes from things that excite us in school, triggered by family events, travels, or everyday life; sometimes it is a result of something we need, read about, see, stumble into. Hopefully it is something that lights us up.

The focus of my life is a result of the birth of my daughter Leila. Since she has special needs she will always need supervision and guardianship/parental support. I love her more than words can express and enjoy being with her and seeing her joie d’vivre. Her giggle is infectious. She gives the world’s best hugs – just ask our team members and anyone she knows.

But, as with any family member with a disability or chronic illness, she also represents more work for me, paperwork, getting her to activities, overseeing her funds. She is the focus of my life. I see my job as staying as healthy as possible, so that I can see that she gets what she needs and most of what she wants and her siblings will not have to take over for a very long time.

This is not to say that I do not have other areas of focus. I am, after all, the
Singing Network Marketer and do write songs and parodies about Mentoring for Free skills and the 30 Day Mental Cleanse. I sing in choirs and perform every now and then.

I also love to cook, which is a good thing, as one of Leila’s favorite activities is eating – mine, too!

By the way, she has her own song I wrote – “You Are Leila”. Benefits of having a mom who writes music.

Wishing you all to find your focus,

Last night after work I went to a business networking mixer at Un Bacio restaurant in Scottsdale sponsored by Raven, who facilitates events.  This was the first one I’ve been able to attend for some time.  The stars, calendar, day of the week – whatever – were in alignment for me.

I arrived with a stack of my Mentoring for Free business cards in my pocket.  I like wearing pants with pockets – very convenient for cards, keys, tissues, etc.  In my left pocket were my cards and I reserved my right pocket for cards I would collect.

Raven and a helper greeted me when I arrived just a bit early and I put my  name on a name tag, which I placed on my right front shoulder.  Sometime ago I learned that was the place to put name tags, not on the left side, because we usually shake hands with our right hand and our eyes are naturally drawn to the other person’s right shoulder and are more likely to notice a name tag there.

At any rate I started to talk to people and had a really good time.  I handed out a few cards, collected a few, and told my story – thanks to magic sequence of words taught to me by my friend Debi Talbert – and had a few people asking for more information.  This stuff works, folks.

While eating some hors d’oeurves at a table with some other ladies I listened to a nurse who ran an assisted living home talk about the wonderful vitamin she represented.  This would be something that competed with my company and I just listened as she told her story.  Thinking that she would benefit from Mentoring for Free training I gave her my card as she gave me hers.  It’s okay – plenty of room for everyone.   Although she did what all or nearly all networkers do and claim that there was nothing better.

The truth is that most network marketing companies have good products or they wouldn’t be in business, so if I can help this person, that would be awesome.

I also met one of the featured persons at the event, an entertainer, comedian, model, actor, emcee Armon Williams (www./  We talked a bit about doing parodies, which he has done, and some original music, both of which I so as the Singing Network Marketer for my business and other events.  It’s a lot of  fun talking with someone who does some of the same things I do and to get some practical information as well.  I’ll start seeing what else he does.

Another fun person was a gentleman who was an attorney and was in construction.  We had a good time chatting and said it was because I was such an “up” person.  As a blue personality I have no trouble talking (it’s listening I work on!) but was pleased to be seen as a person people want to talk to.

Speaking of using my listening skills, when he and I were talking with another lady who was there just gentleman watching, he said he lived in a sea of estrogen – wife and 2 teen girls.  So I told him that I had a product for him!  He took my card when I said it’s the men who make sure their wives and daughters don’t run out of this.  I’ll follow up with him – I have his card.

Anyway, whatever comes of my card exchanges and conversations, I had a good time.   A lot of people were there for the first time so there’s a constant stream of new people in addition to those who just want to hang out, have fun, and support Raven.

If the dates and stars align again for me I’ll attend another Raven event.

Wishing you to have fun creating relationships – it’s the best part of life –

The Power of the Subconscious Mind – WOW!

I have learned first from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and even more vividly from my friend and mentor  Tom “Big Al” Schreiter that the conscious mind is the size of a “pea” and the subconscious mind is as big as a hotel.  The subconscious mind rules our lives and makes all our decisions, but is as dumb as a brick.

At Art Jonak’s Mastermind event the other month it was presented as the “ant” and the “elephant“.

I work hard with the Mental Cleanse sponsored by Mentoring for Free to program my own mind and no longer let outside influences program it.  This is not an easy task, requires lots of positive self-talk and avoiding negative influences.  Constant monitoring is required for as long as, well, forever, as long as I live.  I want to hear my own thoughts coming out of my head, not someone else’s.

The other day when I was using the black and white pages of a local newspaper the Moon Valley Tattler, a perfect fit to line Sueño’s birdcage, I happened to glance at a story about a local chiropractor who was saying goodbye to everyone, that he was retiring and moving on, but that the practice was still in good hands with his partner.

Well, I felt a bit of sadness – and I didn’t even know the guy!

This really got my attention.  I’m programmed to feel loss when someone leaves.  It occurs to me that I feel loss, perhaps a fear of loss with people and objects and papers.  This may be the feeling that keeps me a pack rat.  Boy, my elephant is powerful and my ant has a lot of work to do to catch up and tweak the direction with new programming.  This was so dramatic that it has provided me with even more motivation to take control back of my “elephant”.

Wishing you control of the power of the subconscious mind in a head near you – maybe your own –

Wendy Weber, the Singing Network Marketer

I just came across a printed copy of a series of emails between my mother and me from 2005.

One of my entries was about canceling a summer week-end retreat in Wisconsin I’d gone to for a couple of years, and the last year with my mother, flying to Chicago and traveling in her car. This was for a company I’d been with for 8 years and just couldn’t make it work, I had no profits.

I did find out that it wasn’t my fault.  This was great to know, because I had thought my lack of success was my fault, which made me feel rather lousy.

But it was difficult to let go of the loyalty I felt.  Was it brainwashing?  Was it the relationships I had with some of the people?  Was it that I used the products?  Perhaps all of the above.  But it wasn’t till this year that I was finally able to let go and let my distributor status fade away.

It is time.  I’ve acquired new skills and have a compensation plan that works for me and my personality.  It wasn’t easy, but I had to do it.  Michael Dlouhy founder of Mentoring for Free is right – you cannot be “married” to two companies at the same time just as you cannot be married to two spouses at once.  I had to cut the ties once and for all.

Does that mean I’ll never use the other products again?  Certainly not.  I just won’t be a distributor or have anything get in the way of me current company and the skill set that I have acquired that works; I have practical training for what works today.

Wishing you network marketing success and letting go of what doesn’t work,

Wendy Weber, the Singing Network Marketer

I learned about network marketing success, listening to your inner voice during the 30 day Mental Cleanse sponsored by Mentoring for Free.  The cost of the class is, well, free.  Except the cost to you, or me, is our time and commitment to improving ourselves.

Is the cost of your time, 30 days or more (I am a continuing Mental  Cleanse participant) worth it to improve your life?  I find when I’m not continuing I lose some control of my positive attitude.

Anyway, the Mental Cleanse consists of  reading Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich a chapter at a time, turning in a lesson – whatever you got out of the chapter – to Michael Dlouhy, the founder of Mentoring for Free, and whoever you learned about this from.  Soon there will also be a new database to send it to you so that everyone can see it if you like.  Otherwise, it can be private to Michael, who reads all of them and chooses a few different viewpoints to read and discuss on the two Mental Cleanse calls each Wednesday.

How does this work?  We all call the Mentoring for Free bridgeline and everyone is free to comment – this is a powerful, safe, supportive mastermind group made up of people just like me – and you – from all over the world.  It’s a fun, funny, emotional, and slap-your-forehead-with-your -hand call.  Michael has been doing this for over 10 years, the last 6 as part of the Mentoring for Free training.

Michael knew that to do and to earn more we all have to become more. Most of us have difficulty doing this by ourselves.  I know I do!  But, even though we have to do our own work, we learn so much more as a mastermind group because we hear and read about other people’s points of view, which may be similar or different from our own, but will definitely enriches everyone else’s experience.

So where did I learn to listen to my inner voice?  Chapter 14 The Sixth Sense, the Door to the Temple of Wisdom, with preparation from Chapter 12 the Subconscious MindThe Connecting Link, and Chapter 13 The  Brain, a Broadcasting and Receiving Station for Thought.

And what is the latest inner voice broadcast that I recall I listened to and acted upon?  A few months ago I was moved to go to REI sports outfitting store to look for a sleeping bag, as I hadn’t had one for several years.  They were on sale and an associate helped me choose one that would be warm enough for me.  You may recall that I don’t like to be cold.  So I got one for about 1/2 price and it turned out that I needed it for my Scuba certification boat trip.

Now, I purchased this sleeping bag before I signed up for the scuba class, but I followed my voice and had the warm bag when I needed it and didn’t have to do a bulky alternative with blankets and didn’t have to rush out and pay too much for a sleeping bag.

I was grateful I listened.  I listen most of the time and pay attention.  But this one had a definite result that I could connect with the original act.

Wishing you network marketing success, listening to your inner voice,

Wendy Weber, the Singing Network Marketer

The Greatest Profession in the World – MLM

You know how different professions say they’re the best in the world?

I was watching “Circus”, a 6-part program on PBS about the Big Apple Circus, the stories of the owners, managers, performers, workers.  I really loved seeing the performances and looking backstage and in the trailers of the people involved.

At the end of the last episode the originator of the circus said:  “This is the greatest profession in the world.  We make people feel good about themselves and their world.  And the understand that they have that ability in their lives just like Sarah [dancer on the wire] has that ability in her life or Anna [acrobat on a pole held by two male performers] has it in her life, and that’s the message.”

Well, I do love the circus, but I never felt I could do any of those things in the acts.  However I think the greatest profession in the world is MLM or network marketing, if you will.

Because anyone who wants to do mlm can.  The skills are simple to learn, but not necessarily easy for people to do.  It is, after all, network marketing.  People with little education and skill can learn.  Even highly skilled professionals can learn, imagine that!  Professional sales people have the most difficulty but can learn if they unlearn the selling techniques they’ve used in the selling game.  But you don’t have to be particularly fit or brilliant by educational standards.  You don’t have to be single or married, or have kids or pets or not.

Unlike in the circus, it doesn’t matter what your age is.  For many of the circus acts people’s bodies just wear out, similar to a professional athlete.  Wow – even a professional athlete could do network marketing, with the right coachable attitude and the right coach and mentor.

According to another member of the circus we see that we can overcome our limitations.  I agree, with the proviso that we can add people to our team that are good at our weakness.  I definitely like attracting team members who are more organized and analytical than I.

But, as circus people train and have teachers for their respective acts, so, too, do network marketers train and have teachers/mentors for the most success or even for success at all.  This is something I learned from Mentoring for Free, as I had failed miserably before, so that the possibilities for my life, my dreams, sort of got stuck.  With MFF I was able to get them, and myself, unstuck, and to no small thanks to the Mental Cleanse.  I feel good about myself and what I do.  And I have fun – I like having fun.

Although I’m not flying high in the air doing somersaults to be caught by someone else on another trapeze, thought I’m not doing tricks on a loping pony, I’m not dancing on a wire, I’m having fun building a large, profitable, high retention network marketing team through education and teamwork, love, faith, persistence and action with the force from the mastermind.  Did I say fun?  Just like the circus.

Wishing you the greatest profession in the world,

Wendy Weber, the Singing Network Marketer

Power of the Mastermind for Network Marketing Success

Today is Mental Cleanse day at Mentoring for Free.  Below is the lesson I sent in addressed to 3 of my mentors – Michael and Linda Dlouhy and Judi Sheehan:

I was actually introduced to the power of the mastermind concept many years ago.

I have been reading science fiction since I was little.  I was impressed by the gestalt in one story, where a few people joined together and were able to accomplish amazing things through the power of their shared thought.  I have no idea whether that meant conscious or subconscious.

It did seem, well, amazing.

Little did I know it wasn’t science fiction at all but something that can be every day and that I can be part of at will.  For instance, I am part of this mental cleanse mastermind, my team mastermind, and my company mastermind.  I was at Art Jonak’s conference and felt the power of like-minded people with a common goal of learning, growing, helping each other improve.  It was like a wave that carried me forward and upward.  It was palpable.

The power of the mastermind is unmistakable if I am open to it and contribute to it.  Full circle to the gestalt.  I am not only in the story, I am one with the story.

Thank you Michael, Linda, and Judi, and also the amazing Patti Blevins.

Wendy Weber,

It’s soooooo nice to have my computer back for network marketing success!

I don’t know about you, but I’m not a techno-genius.  I’m not even a techno-expert.  Although next to my mother I look like an expert.  My old computer had died – rather, the motherboard did and could not be replaced.  So I had to get a new computer.

This one has Windows Vista, although I’m supposed to update to Windows 7 when my copy comes in.  The Data Doctors are having some difficulty with that.  Anyway, I’ve been reluctant to do much till I’ve upgraded.

So what next?  My HP All-In-One printer died.  First the paper pick-up feature failed – I had to keep feeding over and over till it finally took a piece of paper to print.  Then the fax died – I CANNOT do without a fax – too many papers, forms for Leila and other things for me.  So I had to get a new one of those.  Hopefully, this time the scanner will work!

Don’t ask me how long it took me to  install or why I was on the phone with HP in India at 1:00 am.

A lot of what I do for network marketing is online – especially the Mentoring for Free processes.  We do have a pro system that I pay for and use and it works.  Only $19.95 a month for at least 4 times the cost anywhere else for all the features we get.

Meanwhile, back to work helping and mentoring others, furthering my own skills with all the live training calls and recorded calls in the database.  If you have not been successful in network marketing, this is the place to be for all the training is generic.  No company names or products are mentioned.

It’s definitely so nice to have my computer back for network marketing success – contact me anytime if you’d like the free training we offer.

Wishing you all the success you desire,

Wendy Weber, the Singing Network Marketer
