My friend and mentor Art Jonak teaches that we need to “step over the poop”.  We may h ave network marketing success and there’s always something to take care of.  I believe the late, great Gilda Radner of  Saturday Night Live fame also said: It’s always something”, although when she said it we all laughed.  And her book had that title.

Well, like most of us, I’ve been dealing with a lot of that lately.  There’s the stuff with my daughter Leila’s house, housemates, and support coordination.  Also, her birthday is rapidly approaching and I am preparing for that – her 30th.  And we have to fit in a snorkeling lesson for Leila  in prep for our upcoming team cruise to the  Caribbean.

I recently had to replace my computer and also my printer.  It’s never the same again.  And I’ve been dealing with Gracie’s hormones; she’s been chasing Sueño from under the TV furniture.  She took it over as her “nest” and really gets into “mommy protect the nest” attack mode.  So he’s been wary of her.  I’ve been putting her to bed early in another room to try to regulate the hours of light she receives.  That seems to be paying off, but Sueño doesn’t trust her.   By the way, they are blue-headed pionus parrots (amazons).

And I thought the kids were hormonal growing up!

Any way, like the rest of us I get  up every day, deal with what comes up, make sure I have fun doing my coaching and mentoring, and carry on with theater, music and life.

Here’s hoping you are dealing with and enjoying network marketing success – and there’s always something -

Become a Leader for MLM Success

My friend and mentor Art Jonak gave the first part of a training on becoming a leader.  Leaders are the ones who gain the most and create the most income.  Therefore, it’s a good idea for you to become a leader for mlm success.

There are different levels of becoming one.  The progression, the steps must be done in order.  If you leave out a level, you will never get the experience to help others become leaders.

Leadership begins with character.  That is the foundation, so that the higher you get on the ladder of leadership, the more you need that solid foundation for stability, not false leadership.  Character makes a leader reliable, someone people want to follow.

Wikipedia says that character is a psychological system of personal traits.  Further, it refers to moral character as an evaluation of a particular individual’s moral qualities.  So we’re talking about moral excellence and firmness as traits that make up good character in a person.

You might be thinking, “should people follow my leadership?  Am I there through thick and thin?  And how do I learn to become a leader?” That, indeed, is the first step.   A leader must first be a learner.

Wishing you the ability to become a leader for mlm success,

Network Marketing Training for MLM Success

I’m sure you would agree that every job you do requires skills training, whether you are a doctor or a ditch digger.  Network marketing is no different.  You need good network marketing training for mlm success.

So many people get into network marketing and are promised training, promised a system for success.  People love systems, the prospect of one is very attractive.

Why?

Most of us come from an employee background.  We work certain hours, we have certain expectations, and are told what to do.  Without the comfort of being told what to do, we tend to flounder.  So a system takes the place of being told by a boss what to do.

I’ve got news for you, making a list of friends and family is not a system.  Also, just because you pay for training does not mean it’s any good.  I have paid thousands for all kinds of training that was supposed to make me successful.  Nothing worked till I got to Mentoring for Free where the skills training is absolutely, well, free.

So what does it cost me?  My time and perhaps some phone cost.

What other valuable training is out there?  The one I know of that I really like is Tom “Big Al” Schreiter’s training at www.fortunenow.com.  Many of you know Tom because he does generic training all over the world.  He’s one of the most successful network marketers out there.

Tom believes in keeping it simple.  I like simple.  He’s a “green” personality and likes lots of data.  He tests and tests, so what he teaches works.  You can also check his site to see where he’ll be training and if he’s anywhere near you don’t miss it.  In addition to great training you’ll also have a good laugh.

You also might want to check into what Art Jonak is doing.  You can google him.

MLM Residual Income and Tax Freedom Day

My good friend and personal mentor Art Jonak gave a training on Tax Freedom Day.

He said that the analysts have figured out that this year April 23 was the tax freedom day. That means that, considering all the federal income tax we pay, the income we get up to April 23, the amount, that is, all goes to Uncle Sam for taxes. Everything we earn after that is ours.

This, of course, is not addressing state, property, sales, taxes, and all the other hidden taxes we pay.

Art also mentioned that those of us in network marketing have an earlier Tax Freedom Day. That’s because we have more legitimate tax deductions.

So, here’s to and earlier Tax Freedom Day!

Wishing you success with mlm residual income and Tax Freedom Day,

MLM Residual Income and The Slight Edge

I have been catching up on my taxes and was thinking that I should have been using more of The Slight Edge techniques all along.

I had 2 years to catch up on before I even got to the 2007 return.

Don’t know about you, but tax preparation is something I dread so much each year that I’ll even put housecleaning and pulling weeds ahead of it. And I even send them off to my accountant to complete. Of course, that’s not the basic reason I didn’t do the prior-year taxes, but that’s another story.

Anyway, I was thinking that what I should have done, and have started to do, is to do something small each day relative to record-keeping. Whether I record the receipts in a ledger or, now into my “Neat Receipts” scanning device, I just do that every day, or whevever I get a receipt, and then compiling the info is easy.

Well, I did do that for 2007, but evidently missed a few and then couldn’t remember what a few were for. Perhaps an easy spreadsheet for those expenses that are online and I don’t have physical receipts for unless I print them out, probably a waste of paper and ink. But there is progress.

If you’re familiar with The Slight Edge process from the book of the same name by Jeff Olson, you know that you can do small, easy things every day, or not do them, and your progress will go up towards success or down towards failure. I’m working on going up towards success – there is a chart to check off which way you went each day.

Formula for Success

Where am I going with this? Well my good friend and mentor Art Jonak teaches that network marketing is as simple as doing a few simple things every day. He says that the formula for success is “getting a large number of people doing a few simple things over and over for a long period of time“.

That makes sense. The key is the KISS system – “keep it simple, sweetheart”.

I can address that in another post.

In the meantime, I’ll finish my 2007 tax info to send off to my accountant to complete properly. And I’ll work on keeping notes every day for expenses. And I’ll check off the boxes above the median line on the slight edge chart as many times in a month as possible to keep my progress in the success mode and not failure mode.

And this is also how I become a leader – one day at a time.

Wishing you mlm recurring income success through using “The Slight Edge” philosophy,
